Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972), born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, was a multidisciplinary artist whose legacy in the graphic and mathematical fine arts is known all around the world. Later on, in life, his portraits, constructions, and landscapes became even more realistic.
