Untitled, 2007 by Antje Hassinger - 40 X 40 Inches (Silkscreen/Sérigraphie)

Untitled, 2007 by Antje Hassinger. Material: archival paper 300g/sqm.

Technique: serigraphy: similar to silkscreening, but with finer quality silk and materials that require each layer to be pressed separately and dried before applying the next, for a more detailed and textural result

A German artist known for her painterly and linear-graphic oil paintings, Antje Hassinger has exhibited across Europe. Her work tends toward nonrepresentational, and through the arrangement of color, form, and structure, she wishes to engage the viewer’s imagination and experience.

Antje Hassinger was born in 1961 in Witten (Germany) and studied design at the Art College of Dortmund. Since 1986, she has been working as a “free" artist and has exhibited throughout Europe, both in single and group exhibitions. Antje Hassinger’s work is characterized by her use of soft, warm earthy colors. Her versatility means that she can work in a free, easy style or in a more graphic mode. Although more abstract than figurative in style, Hassinger’s work evokes a sense of the ancient combined with warm colors which gives the work an earthy, natural touch. The combination of forms that knot and twist with each other to evoke a conglomeration of various forms is a further characteristic of Antje Hassinger’s work.
